ORAS, ESamar – Composite personnel of 14th Infantry (Avenger) Battalion conducts strike operation at vicinity Sitio Tugop, Brgy Rizal, ESamar on January 13, 2010. Acting on a tip of a concern citizen one platoon of Charlie Company of 14IB under 2Lt Mac Allen Dayag (Inf) PA conducted strike operations at vicinity Sitio Tugop, Brgy Rizal, ESamar on January 13, 2010 at 7:00 in the morning that resulted to almost 30 minutes firefight with ten (10) members of New People’s Army. The firefight resulted to the killing of one NPA member and wounding of one Army personnel. One M16 armalite rifle bearing serial number 135108, one rifle grenade, one bandolier with 3 magazines loaded with ammunitions, one detonating cord with blasting cap, medical kit and two back packs containing subversive documents and personal belongings were recovered from the enemy.
Immediately after the encounter, the troops conducted pursuit operation while cadaver of the slained local terrorist was brought to Oras Municipal Police Station for proper disposition, while the wounded soldier was evacuated by the Philippine Air Force helicopter to Camp Lukban Station Hospital for further medication.
